A prolific columnist and former editor of the Nationwide News, Lawrence has written hundreds of articles guiding readers toward new culinary experiences. A wine master of distinction for the International Food, Wine, and Travel Writers Association, Lawrence is frequently called on to weigh in on matters of great taste, including serving as judge for the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue. He writes more than a dozen regular columns that appear in more than two dozen publications for an international audience.
His expertise extends beyond wine, spirits, and fine dining, however. Lawrence is well known for his coverage of the arts, Southern heritage, sports, and lifestyles. He loves to visit parks, galleries, theaters, and artisanal farms and share his adventures with the world. Lawrence has a passion for music, particularly jazz, blues, gospel, and classical. He is noted for his excellent interviews with renowned chefs, actors, authors, and musicians, including Bo Diddley, Dixie Carter, Waylon Jennings, and Bill Clinton.
