Nancy Raines Day is a freelance editor, a childrenâ€™s book author, and a picture book consultant for the Society of Childrenâ€™s Book Writers and Illustrators. She earned her BA in journalism from the University of Michigan and MA in literacy journalism from Syracuse University. A former magazine and newspaper journalist, Day also taught at the Institute of Childrenâ€™s Literature and SoloQuest Learning Center. For a period of twenty years, she published a variety of nonfiction pieces on health and history. She is a member of the Authors Guild and the Society of Childrenâ€™s Book Writers and Illustrators. A mother of two grown children, Day resides with her husband and three cats on St. Simons Island in Georgia.
