Nancy Raines Day is a freelance editor, a children’s book author, and a picture book consultant for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She earned her BA in journalism from the University of Michigan and MA in literacy journalism from Syracuse University. A former magazine and newspaper journalist, Day also taught at the Institute of Children’s Literature and SoloQuest Learning Center. For a period of twenty years, she published a variety of nonfiction pieces on health and history. She is a member of the Authors Guild and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. A mother of two grown children, Day resides with her husband and three cats on St. Simons Island in Georgia.
