Children’s author Jennifer Coleman has lived much of her life in Texas working as an educator and librarian. She takes a great deal of interest in collaborating with other educators and teaching children of all ages. It is those interests that led to her choosing to write her first children’s book. One of the areas that most interests her is performance art. She loves talking to children about the art form, particularly about how it is used to share stories in ballet.
Coleman received a BS in elementary education from Angelo State University. After deciding to become a librarian like her mother, she received her MLS in library science from the University of North Texas. Coleman is a certified teacher and librarian with twenty years of experience. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators. She is also a member of the Texas Library Association.
Coleman lives in Pflugerville, Texas, with her husband and three children. She enjoys cooking, baking, and her two dogs, Skipper and Chief.
