Little Upsie Downsie is having trouble falling asleep (though he has no problem dancing and playing). His worried mother summons the neighbors one by one, and each arrives knowing they have “just the thing” to help the little one sleep. In turn, each one succeeds only in falling asleep, and it is only in the chorus of snores that Upsie Downsie finally dozes off.
Jana Dillon’s lively illustrations feature depictions of historic homes in and areas of Great Britain. Without making too big a deal of it, Upsie Downsie, Are You Asleep? shows parents and children several ways to combat those sleepless nights, and takes a light approach to the bedtime struggles all parents and children face.
