For more than forty years, Tom Bailey has been a writer as well as an editor. He grew up in a house trailer and moved from town to town as a child because of his father’s work in pipeline construction. That, however, did not stop him from falling in love with the coast. He has authored nine books on diving, fishing, and seafood.
Bailey graduated from Jacksonville State University with a BS in business administration. He has won numerous awards for his writing from Associated Press and Sigma Delta Chi. He is the editor of Seacoast Publishing. He previously worked as a staff writer and Pentagon correspondent for Soldiers magazine, the official Army magazine, in Washington, DC, and as a staff writer for Anniston (AL) Star. Bailey also worked for the Birmingham (AL) News for more than thirty years.
In addition to writing and deep-sea fishing, Bailey’s hobbies include playing with his two grandchildren, traveling, and scuba diving with his wife, Janis. He lives in Hoover, Alabama.
