Karen Chappetta, a certified paralegal, is a native of New Orleans. When not working to highlight the history of her hometown, Chappetta is designing quilts for her business, Creative Quilt Designs.
Chappetta and her sister, Kathy, co-owned the Tale of Two Sisters bookstores in Metairie, Louisiana, and Covington, Louisiana, before both closed in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Fans of local and regional writers, the pair enjoyed showcasing many Louisiana authors at the bookstore.
Passionate about all things New Orleans, Chappetta joined her sister in 2009 in updating two iconic history books, Beautiful Crescent: A History of New Orleans and Louisiana: The First 300 Years, both published by Pelican. Beautiful Crescent has been the textbook for New Orleans tour guide training courses since the 1990s.
Chappetta lives with her two children in Metairie, Louisiana. |
