Without any professional business or culinary experience, bakery owner and author Teresa Gordon started Daily Harvest because she had a passion for good food and good health. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jonesboro-Hodge, Louisiana, native Teresa Gordon worked from home for twenty-five years raising her two children. While watching television one day, Gordon was inspired to learn how to make Ezekiel bread. She would have to mill her own grain, so she bought a small mill and bag of grain and started making bread for her husband, children, neighbors, and friends. She soon began baking nonstop with Gale Green, a friend she met through her children. One day at a local beauty salon, the two sold their first loaf of bread, and the requests started pouring in. Gordon, with the help of Green, decided to take a chance and open Daily Harvest. The venture has been an enormous success, and Gordon has since opened a second location in West Monroe. She has been a speaker at Louisiana Tech University School of Business and at church organizations, inspiring other female entrepreneurs. She lives in West Monroe, Louisiana, with her husband.
