Louisiana is unlike anywhere on Earth—the cultures, cities, people, and food all seem to stem from some world beyond ours. The interesting and unique development of such a place has been meticulously researched and compiled in this easy-to-read volume that begins with the cultivation of the land by Native Americans one thousand years before the Greeks built their city-states. Delve into the history of immigrants from across the globe, revolutions and battles, and foreign domination that left their marks in so many ways. With illustrations and photographs both rare and poignant that capture the growth of the state, the information found in this book truly comes to life. A perfect addition for every history buff’s library, this volume is not to be missed.
