Many remember the wit and intellect of Ronald Reagan, “The Great Communicator.” The fearless leader’s firm grasp on objective morality, optimistic attitude, and “Reaganomics” helped to guide the United States through the economic “stagflation,” high unemployment, and the Cold War that were in place when he came into office in 1981. Through this collection of quotes compiled by John E. Wade II and Daniel P. Agatino and edited by Charlotte Livingston, the authors aim to give today’s reader an understanding of Reagan’s knowledge and sanguinity.
Included in this compilation are Reagan’s insightful observations covering topics such as God, the economy, humor, pop culture, and politics. More than one hundred quotes are pulled from some of the president’s most renowned speeches—from his first inaugural address to his speech announcing he had Alzheimer’s disease in November of 1994. Paired with each quote are author commentary, amplifying the president’s words and applying them to the twenty-first century.
