Michael Beauchamp is on the brink of disaster. His plunge, while unnoticed by the world, is a subject of great interest in heaven. A life preserver is hurled to Mike from the great beyond. But is it too late for Mike to grasp the truth?
Mike Beauchamp is a man haunted by memories—an abusive father and a grueling tour in Vietnam—and embittered by loss—Clover LeBlanc, his first love, and David, his adored baby brother. Reluctantly returning to New Orleans to visit his dying mother, Mike continues his downward spiral of drinking and despair, without hope or faith in God to save him. Even as he begins a tentative new relationship with the devout Clover, Mike falls under the spell of a ruthless white supremacist.
Can the gift of angelvision restore sight to a man blinded by sin . . . even when that gift is delivered by a brother Mike thought was dead?
But Mike does have a guardian angel. In heaven, David, martyred at a young age by a drunk driver, pleads to return to Earth to help his brother. Reunited, he confronts a skeptical Mike and endows him with angelvision. This power allows Mike to see the fire of God’s love burning within the faithful and reveals the cold void in the hearts of evildoers. With these visions, and the loving guidance of David and Clover, Mike begins his perilous journey back to God.
Eternity is riding on Mike’s answer to God’s question, “Do you have the fire?”
