Author Adelaide Hechlinger is a New York City native and currently resides of Island Park, NY. She graduated from New York University and has done graduate work at Adelphi University. She is an authority on life in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and has written books on such diverse topics as science, quilting, paper antiques, and cooking. When not writing she teaches science at Far Rockaway High School in New York City.
