Noteworthy Events

Greg Watkins, author and illustrator of A Big Beaked, Big Bellied Bird Named Bill (9781589804418, $15.95), was selected by the Prevention and Intervention Program for Cobb County Schools in Georgia as a guest speaker for elementary-school children on the topic of bullying.

On September 15, the new movie starring Brad Pitt, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, will be released. On August 19, Smith will be at Sam’s Club in Kenner, Louisiana, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. he will be signing at the Sam’s Club in Metairie, Louisiana. On Saturday, August 26, Smith will be in Baton Rouge at Sam’s Club from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Susan Mason will be signing Susan Mason’s Silver Service (9781589803794, $34.95) on Sunday, August 6, at Barnes & Noble from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

J. Robert Parkinson, author of Mottoes for Managing (9781589804029, $14.95 pb), will be speaking at the Florida Public Relations Association Sixty-eighth Annual Conference on August 8, 2006, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Amelia Island, Florida.
