Note from the Publisher

War Crimes Against Southern Civilians (9781589804661, $24.95), by Walter Brian Cisco, released May 10, is off to a strong start. In his book, Cisco examines the little-known savage war against civilians by the Union army during the Civil War. Upon its release, the book ranked roughly 849 on Amazon and is the leading Pelican title there. It received a compelling review by Thomas DiLorenzo, author of The Real Lincoln, which can be viewed at http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo123.html.

The History Channel recently addressed the topic of war crimes with an episode of Sherman’s March to the Sea, which described Sherman’s cruel treatment of former slaves. A group of them had been following his army at Ebenezer Creek. Sherman stranded them without food.

Cisco was interviewed over Dixie Broadcasting and will be signing at the Sons of Confederate Veterans convention in Barnwell, South Carolina, on June 5 and at Easley, South Carolina, on June 19. This book has been a controversial topic on the History Channel blog at http://boards.historychannel.com/thread.jspa?threadID=800017293&start=90&tstart=0, Civil War.

When asked about his charitable donations, Saux replied, "I am a product of this city and anything I do on a creative level is a result of the New Orleans influence. Donating part of the book proceeds is a way of giving thanks for those who helped create my past . . . [and those] who will create the future of our city."
