Walter J. Boyne, author of The Influence of Air Power upon History (9781589800342, $29.95), will be inducted to the National Aviation Hall of Fame on July 21. Although the honor has been in existence since 1903, Boyne’s will be one of only 195 to receive the honor. He is the first author/pilot to be awarded the honor. |

A Depression-era true crime, the book describes the Young Brothers Massacre in Houston, which represented the highest number of law enforcement officers killed on a single day until September 11, 2001. |

Williams was presented with the award after addressing the Joseph W. Anderson Chapter of the UDC in Buchanan, Virginia, on June 9. The medal is the highest honor bestowed to a nonmember of the organization. |
