Gail and Anthony Uglesich, proprietors of the landmark seafood eatery Uglesich’s, will join fellow New Orleans chef Emeril Lagasse on the Food Network on January 23. Their cookbook, Uglesich’s Restaurant Cookbook (9781589802094, $24.95), written by their son, John Uglesich, is already in its second printing and has received rave reviews. In their January issue, Playboy noted “this book seems like a memento of a transcendent dining experience” while Louisiana Cookin’ appreciates how “profiles of interesting customers and suppliers bring the human side of the business to light.”

History Book Honored

Cartoonist Asks Heloise
John Rose
, cartoonist of King Features’ “Barney Google and Snuffy Smith” comic strip will be a guest on Heloise’s nationally syndicated radio show, Ask Heloise, on January 9. Mr. Rose
recently published a Snuffy Smith comic strip featuring Snuffy’s wife, Loweezy, writing to Heloise to see how to get possum gravy out of a lace wedding dress. Mr. Rose is the author of the Fun with Pup Activity Book (9781565542303, $5.95 pb) and other Pelican titles.


Foreign Language Rights Sold
As reported in Publisher’s Lunch, Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, working with the Daniel Doglioli Literary Agency, has purchased the Italian language rights to This Side of Paradise (9781589800960, $15.95, 9781589802544, $8.95 pb) by Steven L. Layne. The prize-winning suspense novel for young adults will be available in paperback this spring.

Groundhog Day is February 2
