When Lois Leblanc was growing up in 1960s Opelousas, Louisiana, she could not afford to purchase books in the beloved Clovis the Crawfish Series. She read about Clovis and all of his friends in her local public library, but the character she admired the most was Lizette Lizard. She mentioned this to the author, Mary Alice Fontenot, who lived and worked in Opelousas at the time. That is when Fontenot began working Clovis Crawfish and the Twin Sister (9781589804678, $15.95), in which Lizette finds her lost sister, Lois Lizard. The author passed away before the book was finished, but her daughter Julie Fontenot Landry completed the story, allowing Lois Lizard to be the final friend introduced in the Clovis Crawfish Series. A number of books in the Clovis the Crawfish Series, originally in black and white with color, are being reproduced in full color. Titles out this Spring will be Clovis Crawfish and Michelle Mantis and Clovis Crawfish and Bertile’s Bon Voyage.

They were amazed that Jim just vanished and was never found! As I am typing this, the children are writing what they think happened to Jim and also drawing a picture of how they think he looked when he was older.
