Our publisher, Milburn Calhoun, has just returned from four months in Florence, Italy, where he was made a member of the English Cemetery Library. The cemetery is the resting place of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and many other notable writers, poets, and artists. A library has grown in the caretaker’s cottage, first presided over by Shakespeare’s last known descendents. |

The PBS documentary focuses on past and present aspects of the holiday from a regional standpoint.
