On November 9, Berlin celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The publisher had predicted the wall's demise in the foreword to Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year: 1980 Edition ($22.00), the impetus was the banning of four volumes of the series at the 1979
Moscow Book Fair by Premier Brezhnev.

The event gained worldwide publicity, including an article by Art Buchwald in the New York Times and the Paris Herald Tribune. A series of interviews with the publisher followed on Voice of America, which were beamed to the Soviet Union. On unification, Dr. Calhoun was able to obtain a piece of the wall from behind the Reichstag, and he considers it a prized possession.
