To receive copies of Pelican’s seasonal and backlist catalogs, send an email with your name and mailing address to promo@pelicanpub.com with the words MAILING LIST in the subject line.
How can I get copies of your catalogs?
Past catalogs are available in electronic format via the side menu under “catalogs.” To request a physical copy, send an email with your name and mailing address to sales@pelicanpub.com with the words CATALOG REQUEST in the subject line. Please specify which catalog you are interested in (Backlist, Children’s, or the current season). You can also request catalogs by filling out the "request" form under the "catalog" selection on the side menu.
There are problems with the books I ordered. What do I do?
Pelican's support team stands ready to resolve problems with your orders. If you are a business customer, please contact your sales representative. If you ordered from this site, please call 1-800-843-1724, or reply to the order acknowledgment e-mail you received after placing your order. Please explain the problem in the email. For speedy processing, please have your order information ready when you call.
How do I contact an author?
Pelican respects the privacy of all authors and illustrators, and will not supply contact information without their permission. Many authors and illustrators have websites with their contact information. Readers are also welcome to send contact requests to Pelican's promotion department via email (promo@pelicanpub.com) or the postal service, which will be forwarded to the author/illustrator.
Do you publish books in foreign languages?
Yes, many Pelican titles are available in languages other than English. Pelican licenses rights for foreign publishers to produce Pelican titles worldwide. Foreign publishers interested in acquiring rights can contact office@pelicanpub.com for more information.

My search brought up a ton of results. What do I do?
By default, the main search box on the Pelican website searches the complete press release text for every book for all the words you enter. If you know the specific title you are looking for, change the search type from “all words” to “exact phrase.” This will limit the results to book pages that include the exact phrase you enter, rather than each word.
I’m looking for books from a specific author. What do I do?
The easiest thing to do is to go to “titles & authors” on the side menu bar and click “by author/illustrator” on the pop-out menu. Authors are listed alphabetically by last name, and all titles are listed at the bottom of their biography page. You can also enter the author’s name in the search box.
Where can I find author and illustrator biography information?
Hover over the "titles & authors" item on the side menu, and select "by author/illustrator." Author and illustrator biographies are organized by last name. Select the appropriate list and then select the individual's name. This list also contains information about editors, audiobook narrators, and other contributors.
Can I search by price?
You can search for books under a certain price by filling in the “Max Price” field on the search page.
How can I find your upcoming books that haven't been released?
Under "titles & authors," the "coming soon" section lists works still in process that will be available in the coming months.
I am looking for children’s books with horses. Can I search for that?
On the search page, you can choose the category “CHILDREN’S FICTION” or “CHILDREN’S NONFICTION” from the “In Category” box. Then, type “horse” in the “Search for” box. This will limit the results to children’s books that mention the word “horse” in the press release.
I want to search the actual text of your books, not just the press release. What do I do?
Type your search into the “Search the full text of our books” search box powered by Google rather than the site search box.
Does Pelican offer an internship program?
Yes! Pelican's internship program supports year-round, unpaid internships, for those interested in the book business. Application information for prospective interns can be found at http://pelicanpub.com/interns.asp.

What does it mean if a title is marked “Currently Unavailable?”
Items marked CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE may be out of stock or may have not yet been released for distribution after the initial printing. If you would like to receive an email notification when one such product is available, click here.

How do I request a review copy of a Pelican title?
Review copies are distributed to members of the media by the Promotion Department. Please send an email to promo@pelicanpub.com to submit your request.
I’d like to interview one of your authors. How can I arrange this?
Media inquiries, including interview requests, can be directed to the Promotion Department via email (promo@pelicanpub.com) or by calling 504-368-1175 and asking to speak with someone in the Promotion Department.
How can I get permission to use material from a Pelican book?
Pelican grants permissions based on specific information about how the excerpted material will be used. Please see the Permissions page for more information: http://pelicanpub.com/permissions.asp.
